Covid -19
If your child develops symptoms on or after Tuesday 22nd December, you will not be able to contact the school. Instead, you will be contacted by the Test & Protect team who will discuss the details with you and ask for the information they need. It is important if your child tests positive during the holidays and has to self-isolate beyond the school return date of 6th January that you contact the school directly as you would for any other absence.
Christmas at Smithycroft
Despite our restricted ability to do our usual Christmas related activities, the Christmas spirit is alive and well here. You may have seen our ‘Virtual’ Choir on Twitter and the incredible efforts of staff to brighten up the school with our Inter-house Christmas door competition.
On Monday 21st December, we are having a non-uniform day. Young people are encouraged to wear something Christmassy! We will be running our Inter-house quiz as the race at the top of the leader board hots up and everyone will get the chance to see a ‘Virtual’ Panto.
On Tuesday 22nd, we will officially close for the at 2.30pm.
We re-open on January 6th 2021 at 8.50am.
And finally…..
Thank you for all you have done to support the school and young people over a long term. Thanks also to all the great staff we have here at Smithycroft and the wonderful partners we work with to ensure that young people get the best possible start in life.
