PCR Workshop at Strathclyde University
This lab provided an introduction to the theory and practical development of PCR. Pupils extracted DNA from 5 different plant samples, then added the components required for PCR and use a thermal cycler to amplify DNA. They set up and performed DNA electrophoresis with unamplified and amplified samples. The gels produced enabled pupils to observe and compare results.
