S2 Glasgow Science Centre Planetarium Visit 
As part of our business partnership with Glasgow Science Centre 30 S2 Science pupils were extremely lucky to get a sneak preview of the new Planetarium on the 28th August. Smithycroft were invited to review the show before it opens to the public on the 5th September. The Science Centre has spent £5million upgrading their old projector to a new digital projector and the end result was amazing. The pupils were taken on a journey of discovery from the surface of the Earth up past a live feed from the space station and then through an exciting flyby of the solar system. The Science Centre were exceptionally pleased with our S2 pupils and even said “that is the best response that we have had so far and some of the most intellectual Science questions for their age group!” After the show the pupils were able to take a tour of the Science mall which has some fantastic exhibits such as a thermal imaging camera, heart rate monitors, the brain wave challenge and even beat the bacteria ninja game.
