School update

Hope you are all well. Allow me to give you a quick update on a number of matters.
Staffing News
Ms McGugan has been appointed as Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care at Kings Park Secondary School in Glasgow. We are delighted for her but will be very sorry to see her go after so many great years here supporting young people and families.
Ms Fabas has been appointed permanently to now as Teacher of Modern Languages – congratulations to her. We are delighted too.
Mr Hood continues to recover well from this accident and we are hoping he will be back with us in the very near future.
Mrs Hughes and Mrs Wilson are not well enough to return to school yet and we continue to keep them in our thoughts.
Ipad Deployment
We have already successfully deployed over 650 iPads and by the October holiday we anticipate that every pupil will have their own device. This has already proven to be very popular with pupils and it is exciting to see whole classes actively interacting during lessons on their devices. Feedback so far has been very positive from pupils and staff.
It would be appreciated if you could support us in ensuring pupils look after their device, bring it to school every day fully charged and that they use it responsibly for educational purposes.
Health and Food Technology
Please remind your child to bring a tub with a lid for their cooking and support the Health and Food Technology Department in their quest to cut down on waste, re use and recycle!
School Standards
We have been busy reminding all young people about the values of the school and what we stand for as a school community. Thanks for all you do in support of this too. We all want the school to be the best possible place to learn and grow.
Young people have been great at supporting all our Covid mitigations. After the October holiday, we are going to have fresh look at uniform standards to make sure that we are dressing our best as well as performing at our best.
